IndEcol at NTNU
NTNU’s MSc and PhD Programme in Industrial Ecology is a world leading academic program that gives students the theoretical foundation and analytical skills to effectively measure and address the challenges of sustainability. Students can choose one of two study paths; Environmental Systems Analysis or Environmental Politics and Management. Both study paths rely on a variety of analytical tools. These tools can help companies visualize the environmental impact of their operations and justify further improvements. Similarly, these tools can be used to critique and understand national and international environmental policies.
Areas we work with include: Energy production, industrial product and process design, industrial symbiosis, sustainable consumption, environmental management, climate change, extended producer responsibility, integrated product policy, sustainable construction and infrastructure, transportation, and waste recycling. Our approach is to integrate environmental issues together with economic effectiveness by analyzing the material and energy metabolism (stocks and flows), conversion efficiencies, and environmental impacts.
